Bollywood Remake

Watch it on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7VYtsHUf0M

Recently In our office there was a game on Bollywood movies remake. And the event was Bollywood Film fare awards. The main two ingredients to remake a movie were “Bollywood masala” and “Project masala”.

When everybody got to know there is going to be a competition on this, a meeting happened and people were asked to give their ideas on this. When my turn came, I told lets remake movie RAMAYAN with a modern concept. The moment I said this I saw that majority of the people were not interested or few had no idea how we can do it. People were asked to decide movie name and make some scenes/flow for the movie remake.

I realized majority of the people were not interested on RAMAYAN. But still I was working on the flow on my mind.

The next day a meeting happened and people were asked to decide on things. People were planning to combine two or three movies. I simply kept quiet. Though I had a flow for the RAMAYAN movie remake in a good way, I could not tell it over at that moment in front of the entire group. I decided let them work on the flow on the movies they have thought of, if that is good will do that or else let me explain the flow which I have thought.

After the meeting, I simple narrated my script to my teammates and they were quite impressed with it. They went and told the person in charge that she has a script ready with her. I narrated to him and he was also okay with it. He asked me to narrate to the entire group. But I stopped from doing so and said “Let them come up with the script they have planned and then decide”.

Evening a meeting happened again. But the script was not yet well planned from their end. So finally

Everyone decided to perform on RAMAYAN as the script flow is ready. I took the responsibility of writing entire dialogues. The next day I was asked to narrate the script and I did in front of the entire group. I was kind of not comfortable to narrate in front of entire group as I had written it in a slang way similar to mad-ads and I was doing it for the first time. Still took courage and narrated it. They all were impressed and asked to narrate even in the final event. Initially I did not agree for it but without any other option had to take it up.

Practice happened few times and then The FINALE. With fear and excitement I stepped into the event and started narrating. After our performance people who were known to me appreciated my narration and the movie remaking. I felt good. All the performance got over and the awards ceremony started.

My heart was pounding. Curiosity was at extreme. As I had taken up the entire responsibility of scripting and narrating it was obvious that I was hoping that we should get a single award at least.

4 awards were announced and our movie did not win any of it. I lost all hopes. Only 1 more award was left. That’s Blockbuster movie award. Picture abhi bhaki hai dhost.

I received special award for real talent, it was judge’s choice award. Though there was no memento/ award as such, judges forced to give award for category like this. I felt really happy when my name was announced for this. It was a moment of pride.

And the final award blockbuster movie award “THE FINALE WINNING TEAM” was won by US. I was on cloud 9. My first attempt itself on scripting and narrating won such a huge popularity. Felt really happy.

In this moment I thank all the people who supported me indirectly/ directly and also a big thanks to the team who worked on this.

A quick thought in a traffic junction

Once while driving car in a major traffic junction, I observed road was damaged to a great extent. If you drive in that road your vehicle will literally get shaky and it feels very hard. If commuters with back pain travel in that road they will have bad time. With the hope of the road being repaired soon, I continued towards my destination.

Couple of days later while driving on the same road I observed that there was no change in the condition of road. As I stopped at the red signal, thoughts came into my mind as to why no government authority has taken any step towards any improvement/development of the road.  Is it because nobody complaint about it. Suddenly a question came to my mind, if I am supposed to complaint or request to repair it then whom should I be approaching? Give complaint to Corporator? MLA? Police station? BBMP?  My mind went blank for a second. I felt sad. Being a citizen of the country I’m supposed to be well aware of these major details. And I’m sure there are plenty of people who are in my state.

Traffic signal count was nearing to zero but suddenly it got re-initialized to 100 and I was supposed to wait for some more time. While waiting in the traffic, across the road I could see traffic police stopping people and was busy collecting fine from the people who were not wearing helmet and who were overloading their vehicles. Traffic rules are meant for the safety of the commuters but what is the use of traffic rules if the roads are by themselves not safe at all. My question is why aren’t the government officials being a little responsible and doing their duty? Who should be held responsible? Why aren’t the people not given any right to fine the government over their negligence.

By now started hearing beep sound and realized traffic signal light has turned from red to green and I moved on.

Complex/Uncommon words

While attending sessions, while listening to speech, while watching news channels, while reading newspaper most of us must have come across some words which we have never heard of and have no clue of what it means. During this I always get a thought; is it really necessary to use words which are not common when there are simpler and easier words which everybody can understand.

These days many people put forward so many tough, hard and unheard words in front of their listeners or readers. This can result in many of them not understanding the point of view and land up in assuming some of the meanings which might or might not be correct. I personally get irritated while hearing or reading uncommon/complicated words because every time it’s difficult to refer dictionary for exact meaning.  Due to this information gets missed at times.

It’s not necessary that the speaker or author have to use such heavy words to become great or famous words in their works. I believe that it is the creativity, work and the simplicity that catches the audience and not the uncommon words.

Land and Language

A place which is attracting people from all over the world, a place which is known for opportunities, a place which is hub of information technology, a place which you love and loves you. That’s Namma Bengalooru located in Karnataka state. The regional language of Karnataka is "Kannada" and the people of Karnataka are called “Kannadigas”.

The reason why I am writing this article is due to the respect I have towards the land and the language which is giving life to me.

I had already mentioned Bengalooru is attracting people from all over the world. People who are born and brought up here must have experienced situations like

1.   People from different state/country speaking lightly about our language
2.  People compare our language/state with their language/state and say their language/state is better.
3.   People abuse our language/state.
4.   People from different state/country say why they need to learn other language as most of them speak in their language or in English.
5.   People from different state/country say they will support only their language and land because they have immense pride about their language.

It really hurts when you hear this from people who are utilizing maximum benefits of this land.

For those who doesn't respect the land and language where you are currently in.

1.   No language is best. The purpose of language is only to communicate and express your feelings. All languages have fulfilled the purpose. Stop comparing languages. Respect all languages.
2.   If you have immense pride and love towards your land you wouldn’t have left your land and would have come here. Respect the place which is giving life to you.
3.   If you don’t want to learn different language nobody is going to lose except you because when you are given an opportunity to learn different language you are letting it go.  India is known for its unity in diversity concept. Be a part of it.

Here is a one liner which I would like to quote in Kannada: “Hogaladiddaru paravagilla thegalabeda nanni naadanu mattu naadina bhasheyanu”. Meaning even if you don’t praise my land/language not a problem but don’t insult it!

You are a gift!

In the world where we are lost within millions,

In the world where different kind of emotions play,

In the world where no escapism from hardworking,

In the world where struggling to the survival,

In the world where technology shines,

In the world where money is important,

In the world where people busy making property,

Have you lost completely?

You are a gift, Gift yourself a gift,

You are a gift, Gift yourself a smile,

You are a gift; Gift yourself a time which makes you feel you are a gift,

A gift to someone’s life or a gift to yourself.

Do you want to work after marriage? Do you know cooking?

Do you want to work after marriage? Do you know cooking?

These are guys favourite question while talking to the girl during marriage proposal.

The confusion here is what exactly their intention while asking these questions. Are they asking these just because “they don’t have anything else to talk” or “their friends asked same questions while they were seeing proposals” or “they just want to know” or “they do not want their girl to struggle at office” or “they don’t want girl to work anymore and just cook at home”.

If their intention is last one why can’t they marry a girl having just basic knowledge, why do they need a girl with single/double degree? If they are marrying just because the girl knows to cook and want to enjoy the dishes she prepares, why can’t they hire a good cook instead?

When these types of questions are shot at us a thought comes to the mind, “why did our parents struggle so much to provide us  good education and why did we struggle so much to get a good college/study well/get a good job/etc ?” Just to stay at home cooking?

I am not saying all educated women should work or I want to work.At times even I feel like “why should i  work, let me stay relaxed at home”. As long as there is work life balance definitely women should work and we should make use of what we have learnt. Women can make a decision on whether to work or not.....depends on the situation.
